I just completed the 7-Day Varanasi to Lumbini Buddhist Pilgrimage Tour and honestly, this is one of the best Buddhist circuit tours in India and Nepal I could have asked for. If you're searching for an all-inclusive Buddhist pilgrimage package covering Sarnath, Bodhgaya, Kushinagar, and Lumbini, this is it. The journey started right in Varanasi, with a smooth airport pickup and our first stop at Sarnath, the site of Buddha's first sermon, followed by an incredible evening at the Ganga Aarti ceremony on the ghats — a truly spiritual welcome to India. From there, we drove to Bodh Gaya, home to the sacred Mahabodhi Temple and the legendary Bodhi Tree, where Buddha attained enlightenment. Seeing the Great Buddha Statue and Sujata Kuti up close made the history feel real, not just something out of a textbook. Next came Rajgir and Nalanda, where we explored the ancient Nalanda University ruins — a must for anyone interested in Buddhist heritage and history in Bihar. The Bimbisar Jail stop added great historical context too. We then crossed into the Kushinagar region, visiting the Parinirvana Stupa and Ramabhar Stupa, the exact place where Buddha took his final breath. Deeply moving. Crossing the border into Lumbini, Nepal, was a highlight — visiting the Maya Devi Temple, Buddha's actual birthplace, felt like the emotional peak of the whole Buddhist heritage tour. The final days covering Kapilvastu and Shravasti, including the Angulimala Stupa, rounded out the pilgrimage beautifully before ending in Lucknow. Spiritual Sojourn: Lucknow to Ayodhya Day Tour

A spiritual journey for Sri Ram Darshan with my wife

Myself and my wife went for spiritual Darshan of Sri Rama. What a blessing. Jai Sri Ram. We stayed in Hyatt Lucknow and organized this day trip to Ayodhya and back. Since Ayodhya as a town with sufficient star hotels is yet to happen, traveling from Lucknow is a good option. Thus organizing this travel with spiritual sojourn is very good. The organizer was quick to respond to my questions, answered via WhatsApp, organized the car and driver and the guide in Ayodhya. They were also accommodative on our request for preferred time and places to visit in Ayodhya apart from Sri Rama Janmabhoomi. They showed us Sita palace, Hanuman Garhi, and Sarayu river apart from Sri Rama Janmabhoomi. Since we hold USA passport, we has special queue for foreigners that also helped faster Darshan. Overall spiritual Darshan does a very good job. However, we were not impressed by the guide they gave us, you expect the guide to tell us historical perspective and good stories. But the guide was more like a local showing you the way. That was disappointing. Also, he took us to Sarayu river at location we wondered why when he could have taken us to place where Arathi is conducted (even though we mentioned, we won’t stay for Sarayu Arathi). The guide must also be someone who is devotee of Sri Ram and his Parivar. This aspect must improve. Also the driver (very good person) can come more professionally dressed and should be more interactive. The car can also be a better quality one. However, I must commend prompt responses to my questions and timely responses. My suggestions are for the business to look very professional and top class so it can attract more tourists.
