If you are driving, start from the center of Mahabalipuram, near the Shore Temple. Head west on East Raja Street for about 1 km, then turn left onto W Raja Street. Continue for around 500 meters, and you will see the Five Rathas (Pancha Rathas) on your right. There is a parking area available near the site, which may incur a small fee (approximately ₹20-₹50).

Auto-rickshaw

Auto-rickshaws are a convenient way to reach the Five Rathas. You can hail one from anywhere in Mahabalipuram. Simply tell the driver 'Pancha Rathas' or 'Five Rathas.' The journey should take about 10 minutes and cost around ₹50-₹100, depending on your starting point.

Public Bus

If you prefer public transportation, you can take a local bus heading towards Mahabalipuram from Chennai or nearby towns. Alight at the Mahabalipuram bus stop, which is close to the town center. From there, you can either walk (approximately 1.5 km) or take an auto-rickshaw to the Five Rathas. The bus fare from Chennai is approximately ₹30-₹50.

Walking

If you are staying nearby, you can walk to the Five Rathas. From the Shore Temple, walk west on East Raja Street, turn left onto W Raja Street, and continue for around 500 meters. The site is easily accessible on foot and will take you about 15-20 minutes.
