Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya. Take the NH6 highway south towards Lumshnong. The drive will take approximately 2 hours (about 90 km). As you approach Lumshnong, keep an eye out for signs indicating Kotsati Cave. The cave is located on the NH6, so you should find it easily. Parking is generally available near the cave entrance. Ensure you check the cave's opening hours from 7 AM to 5 PM before your visit.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take a shared taxi or bus from Shillong to Jowai. This journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you reach Jowai, you will need to hire a local taxi or auto-rickshaw to take you to Kotsati Cave, which is around 30 km away. The taxi fare may range from INR 300 to INR 500, depending on negotiation. Make sure to confirm the fare before starting your ride. The local taxis usually know the route to the cave, so just provide them with the name 'Kotsati Cave' and they will take you there.

Once you arrive in Lumshnong, if you are not traveling by car or taxi, you can ask local residents for directions, as they are familiar with the area. Walking from the main road may be possible, but it is advisable to arrange for a local taxi to ensure you reach the cave safely and efficiently.
