If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya, which is about 90 kilometers away from Mawlynnong. Take NH6 and then follow the signs towards Dawki. From Dawki, continue on the road towards Mawlynnong. The last stretch of the journey involves a scenic drive through lush green hills. Once you reach Mawlynnong, park your car in the designated parking area.
Public Transportation (Bus)
From Shillong, you can take a shared taxi or a bus to Mawlynnong. Shared taxis leave from the Police Bazar area in Shillong. The fare is approximately INR 150-200 per person, and the journey takes around 2-3 hours. Make sure to ask the driver to drop you off at Mawlynnong village. Once you arrive in Mawlynnong, you can walk to the Living Root Bridge, which is about 15-20 minutes away.
