Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Guwahati, which is well connected by road to various parts of Northeast India. Drive towards the NH27, following signs for Tezpur. After approximately 180 km, take a right turn onto the NH15 towards Biswanath Chariali. Continue for about 30 km until you reach the junction at Biswanath Chariali. From there, take the road leading to Assam 782490. Follow the directions to the Tokolangso Waterfall, which is approximately 10 km from the main road. Be prepared for some bumpy roads as you approach the waterfall, and ensure you have a GPS or a map application for precise navigation.
Public Transportation
For travelers using public transportation, take a bus or shared taxi from Guwahati to Tezpur. The journey will take around 4-5 hours, and buses leave frequently from the Paltan Bazar bus station. Upon reaching Tezpur, you can hire a local taxi or tuk-tuk to Biswanath Chariali. This should cost around INR 500-700. Once at Biswanath Chariali, catch another taxi or shared vehicle heading towards Assam 782490, which will cost approximately INR 300-500. Ensure to ask the driver to drop you off as close to Tokolangso Waterfall as possible.
Combination of Car and Trekking
If you prefer a more adventurous approach, drive or take a taxi to the nearest point reachable by road to Tokolangso Waterfall, which is around 5 km away. From this point, you will need to trek to the waterfall. The trek is moderate and takes about 1-1.5 hours. It’s advisable to wear good hiking shoes, carry water, and use a GPS or a local guide to ensure you stay on the right path. Local guides can be hired at a nominal fee to help navigate the trails.
