Car
If you're traveling by car from Guwahati, head south on NH6 towards Shillong. After about 100 km, take the exit towards MAWLYNNONG-LYNGKHAT road. Continue for approximately 30 km until you reach Mawlynnong village. From Mawlynnong, follow the signs towards Borhill Falls, which is about 5 km away. The road is well-marked, but be prepared for some rough patches as you approach the falls.
Public Transportation
From Guwahati, take a bus or shared taxi to Shillong. The journey takes around 3-4 hours. Once in Shillong, you can take a local bus or shared taxi to Mawlynnong. This part of the trip may take about 2 hours. Upon reaching Mawlynnong, you can hire a local taxi to take you to Borhill Falls, which is approximately 5 km away. Ensure you confirm the fare beforehand; it usually costs around ₹200-₹300.
Walking
If you prefer to hike from Mawlynnong to Borhill Falls, it is about a 1.5-hour walk through scenic paths. Follow the main road that leads out of Mawlynnong and keep an eye out for trail signs towards the falls. This option allows you to enjoy the lush greenery and local flora along the way.
