From the center of Pahalgam, head south on the Main Market Road towards the Aru Valley. Continue driving for about 12 kilometers. You will reach a fork in the road; take the left route towards the Aru Valley. Follow this road for another 5 kilometers. Look for signs indicating Hoornag Lake. Once you reach the designated parking area near the trailhead, park your car. The lake is a short trek away, approximately 2 kilometers uphill from the parking area.

Start from the main bus stand in Pahalgam. Take a local shared taxi or auto-rickshaw heading towards Aru Valley. The fare should range from INR 100 to 150 per person. Inform the driver that you want to go to the Hoornag Lake trailhead. Once dropped off at the parking area, you will need to trek approximately 2 kilometers uphill to reach Hoornag Lake.
