Getting There

• Car

  From Puri, take the NH 16 highway towards Khurda. Continue on NH 16 for about 16 kilometers until you reach the junction for NH 5. Take the right exit onto NH 5 towards Berhampur. Follow NH 5 for approximately 22 kilometers until you see signs for the Kalijai Temple. You will need to park your car at the designated parking area near the lake and then take a local boat to the temple, which is situated on an island in Chilika Lake.   From Puri, you can take a local bus to Balugaon, which departs regularly from the main bus station. The bus ride will take about 45 minutes and costs approximately ₹30. Once you arrive in Balugaon, you can hire a local auto-rickshaw or take a taxi to the jetty that offers boats to the Kalijai Temple. The auto-rickshaw fare to the jetty is about ₹100.   You can hire a taxi from Puri directly to the Kalijai Temple. This option is more convenient and provides a comfortable ride. The taxi will take you to the jetty where you can board a boat to the temple.
