Hi, I'm Eve. Here are a few practical things to know before exploring Neeladri Beach & Park Puri.
Local know-how to help you travel smarter and make the most of every moment.
Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the Jagannath Temple in Puri. Head south on Grand Road (Bada Danda) and turn right onto Chakra Tirtha Road. Follow this road for about 5 km. You will pass by various local shops and eateries. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with the beach road. Take a left turn at the intersection, and you will see signs directing you to Neeladri Beach & Park. The park entrance is located just off the beach road.
Auto Rickshaw
For a more local experience, consider taking an auto rickshaw. You can find auto rickshaws near the Jagannath Temple or any main market area in Puri. Simply tell the driver 'Neeladri Beach & Park', and they should know the location. The fare should be around ₹100 to ₹150 depending on your starting point. Make sure to negotiate the price before starting your journey to avoid any misunderstandings.
Public Bus
Although less common, if you prefer public transportation, you can take a local bus from Puri Bus Stand. Look for buses that head towards Konark, as they frequently stop near Neeladri Beach. You will need to pay a fare of approximately ₹20. Make sure to inform the conductor to drop you off at the nearest stop to Neeladri Beach & Park. From there, you may need to walk a short distance to reach the park entrance.
Bicycle Rental
For the adventurous, renting a bicycle is a great way to explore Puri. You can find rental shops near the beach areas. Once you have a bicycle, head south from the beach and follow the directions for cars mentioned above. The ride is approximately 5 km and offers a scenic route along the coast. Rental costs typically range from ₹100 to ₹300 for a few hours.
