Walking
If you are starting from the Mall Road in Shimla, walk towards the Ridge. From the Ridge, head towards the Scandal Point, then take the road leading down towards the Lakkar Bazaar. Continue straight until you reach the end of the bazaar. From there, take the right on to the Circular Road. Keep walking for about 10 minutes, and you will see a sign for the Himachal State Museum on your left. The museum is located on Museum Road, near Doordarshan Kendra.

From the Mall Road, locate the nearest bus stop that services local routes. Take a local bus heading towards Chaura Maidan, and ask the conductor to drop you off at the Doordarshan Kendra stop. Once you get off, walk a short distance along Museum Road, and you will find the Himachal State Museum on your right.

You can also hire a rickshaw from any point in Shimla. Simply tell the driver that you want to go to the Himachal State Museum. It is a well-known location, so they should know the way. The ride from the Mall Road to the museum should take around 10-15 minutes depending on traffic.
