If you are starting from the Mall Road in Shimla, head towards the Jakhu Temple. From the Mall Road, take the lift or walk up the steep pathway towards Jakhu. Once you reach the temple, continue straight towards the narrow path leading to Rothney Castle. The entrance to Rothney Castle will be on your right, a short walk from the temple.

For those looking for a more adventurous route, start at the Ridge near the Mall Road and follow the trekking path that leads up towards Jakhu Hill. Keep an eye out for signs pointing to Jakhu Temple. After visiting the temple, look for the trail that leads further up the hill. Rothney Castle is situated nearby and can be accessed via a short trek from there.
Local Transport (Tuk-Tuk or Rickshaw)
From the Mall Road, you can hire a local auto-rickshaw or tuk-tuk to take you to Jakhu Temple. Inform the driver that you want to go to Rothney Castle. Once you reach the temple, you can either walk or ask the driver if they can take you closer to the castle entrance, which is a short distance away.
