Getting There

  • Walking

    Start your journey from the popular Mall Road in Shimla. Head towards the north end of Mall Road, and look for the Ridge. Walk straight towards the Ridge area, which is a large open space with stunning views. Continue walking straight until you reach the end of the Ridge, where you will find the entry point to the Jakhoo Hill trail. The trail is well-marked and leads you through a scenic path lined with pine trees. Follow the trail for approximately 20-30 minutes, and you will arrive at the top of Jakhoo Hill, where the famous Hanuman Temple is located. From here, you can see signs directing you to the Watch Tower. It is a short walk from the temple; just follow the path that leads you to the Watch Tower.

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Shimla Railway Station, exit the station and head towards the main road. Follow the road uphill towards the Mall Road. Once you reach the Mall Road, turn left and walk along the road towards the Ridge. This walk will take around 20-25 minutes. Upon reaching the Ridge, continue as described previously towards Jakhoo Hill, following the signs to the Watch Tower.

  • Taxi or Auto-Rickshaw

    If you prefer not to walk, you can take a taxi or auto-rickshaw from any central location in Shimla to the Jakhoo Hill area. Ask the driver to drop you off at the base of Jakhoo Hill. From there, follow the same walking path as previously described. It’s a short hike from the base to the Watch Tower, taking approximately 15-20 minutes.
