Car
If you are driving from Chennai city center, take the Anna Salai road towards the south. Continue on this road until you reach the intersection near Saidapet. Turn right onto the Grand Southern Trunk Road (GST Road). Continue straight for approximately 5 kilometers until you reach Zaffarkhanpet, Ashok Nagar. The Ashok Pillar will be on your left. Parking might be available along the roadside, but be cautious of local parking regulations.
Public Transportation (Bus)
Take a local bus from any major bus terminal in Chennai, such as the Koyambedu Bus Terminal. Look for buses that head towards Ashok Nagar or Zaffarkhanpet. The bus fare will typically range from ₹10 to ₹30, depending on your starting point. Inform the conductor of your destination, and they will alert you when you approach the Ashok Pillar stop. Once you get off, the pillar is just a short walk away.
Auto-rickshaw
For a more convenient option, you can take an auto-rickshaw from your current location in Chennai. You can simply ask the driver to take you to Ashok Pillar in Ashok Nagar. The fare will depend on the distance, but expect to pay between ₹50 to ₹150. It's advisable to negotiate the fare before starting your journey or ask the driver to use the meter.
