Walking
If you are starting from the Varanasi Railway Station, exit the station and head towards the main road. Turn left onto the road and walk straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the Dashashwamedh Ghat. From there, you can follow the riverside path along the Ganges. Continue walking along the riverbank, passing several smaller ghats on your left. After about 1 kilometer, you will come across Manikarnika Ghat, which is well-marked and often bustling with activity.
Rickshaw
From any central location in Varanasi, you can take a shared auto-rickshaw or cycle-rickshaw to Manikarnika Ghat. Simply tell the driver 'Manikarnika Ghat' or 'Kashi Vishwanath Temple,' as it is a well-known landmark nearby. The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. The rickshaw will drop you off as close to the ghat as possible, after which you can walk the remaining distance.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from a local shop. Start at the Varanasi Ghats area, and head towards the river. Follow the signs leading to Dashashwamedh Ghat, then continue along the riverbank. The route is scenic, and you will get to observe local life along the way. After about 3 kilometers, you will arrive at Manikarnika Ghat. Be cautious of pedestrians and other cyclists on the narrow paths.
Use Manikarnika ghat as your starting point for nearby food, family ideas, nightlife, and more local discoveries.
