Getting There

    From Panaji, head to the nearest bus stop, which is located at the Kadamba Bus Terminal. Once there, take a bus heading towards Anjuna. The ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Inform the bus conductor that you want to get off at Vagator. After you disembark, follow the signs towards Chapora Fort Trail. It’s about a 20-minute walk from the bus stop. You will pass by some local shops and cafes, and you can enjoy the scenic views as you make your way to the fort.

  • Auto-rickshaw

    From anywhere in Panaji, you can hire an auto-rickshaw to take you directly to Chapora Fort. Make sure to tell the driver 'Chapora Fort' and confirm the fare before starting your journey. The ride will take about 30-40 minutes depending on traffic. The driver will take you to the entrance of Chapora Fort Trail, from where you can start your hike up to the fort.

  • Bicycle rental

    If you’re feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Panaji. Head towards the Mandovi River and follow the coastal road towards Anjuna. The distance is approximately 20 km and will take around 1-1.5 hours. Once you reach Vagator, follow the signs to Chapora Fort Trail. The trail leading to the fort is a bit steep, but the views from the top are worth it!
