From downtown Gary, head to the nearest bus stop at 5th Avenue and Broadway. Take the Gary Public Transportation Corporation (GPTC) bus route 8 towards 5th Avenue Station. After approximately 20 minutes, transfer to the South Shore Line train at the Gary Metro Center. Board the train heading towards Chicago. After about 40 minutes, disembark at the Millennium Station in Chicago. From there, catch the CTA bus number 151 or 156 towards Lincoln Park. Get off at the stop near Lincoln Park Zoo, and walk to 125 W Fullerton Pkwy; the Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool will be on your right.
