From downtown Gary, walk to the nearest bus stop on 5th Avenue and Broadway. Take the #10 bus towards Chicago. After approximately 45 minutes, get off at the 'Main & 16th' stop in Chicago. Transfer to the #29 bus towards 'State & 31st'. After about 15 minutes, get off at 'Ida B. Wells & Michigan'. The Auditorium Theatre is just a 5-minute walk from there. Head east on Ida B. Wells Drive until you reach 50 East Ida B. Wells Drive.

From the Gary Metro Center, take the South Shore Line train towards Chicago. The trip will take about 1 hour. Exit at the Millennium Station in Chicago. From Millennium Station, walk to the nearby 'State & Lake' subway station. Take the 'Red Line' subway towards 95th/Dan Ryan and get off at 'Harold Washington Library'. From there, transfer to the 'Pink Line' subway towards 18th and get off at '18th & Paulina'. Walk to the nearest bus stop and take the #29 bus towards 'State & 31st'. Get off at 'Ida B.
