Public Bus
From downtown Gary, head to the nearest bus stop and board the Gary Public Transportation Corporation (GPTC) bus route 10 towards the South Shore Line. Ride the bus for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the Gary Metro Center. From there, transfer to the South Shore Line train heading towards Chicago. Stay on the train for about 40 minutes. Once you arrive at the Museum Campus/11th St station, exit the train and walk east on 11th St until you reach Michigan Ave. Turn left onto Michigan Ave and walk south until you reach 21st St. Turn right onto 21st St and continue walking until you reach S China Pl. Chinatown Square Plaza will be on your left.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local bike-sharing services in Gary. Start at the Gary Metro Center and head southeast on 5th Ave. Continue on 5th Ave until you reach Broadway St, then turn left. Follow Broadway St until you reach 21st St, then turn right. Continue straight as 21st St turns into S China Pl. After cycling for approximately 5 miles, you will arrive at Chinatown Square Plaza on your right.
Walking
If you're up for a walk, start at the Gary Metro Center and head south on Broadway Ave. Continue straight for about 1.5 miles. Then turn left onto 21st St and follow it for another 1.5 miles until you reach S China Pl. Chinatown Square Plaza will be on your left. This walk is about 3 miles in total and will take approximately an hour.
