Getting There

• Bus

  If you are in Gary, head to the nearest bus stop that services the Gary Public Transportation Corporation. Look for routes that head towards Chicago. You can take the Gary Public Transportation bus to the South Shore Line train station. From there, board a train heading towards Chicago. Once you arrive at the Millennium Station in downtown Chicago, exit the station and walk to the nearest bus stop (on Michigan Ave). Take the #66 Chicago Avenue bus heading west until you reach State Street. From there, walk north on State Street for about 5 minutes until you reach Holy Name Cathedral at 735 N State St.

• Train

  Make your way to the South Shore Line station in Gary, located at 100 W 4th Ave. Once there, purchase a ticket heading to Chicago. Board the train and enjoy the ride until you reach Millennium Station in downtown Chicago. After exiting the train, walk east towards State Street, then head north on State Street for about 10 minutes. Holy Name Cathedral will be on your right at 735 N State St.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from a local bike-sharing service in Gary. Start your ride on 5th Ave heading east towards the South Shore Line station. Continue to follow bike paths heading towards Chicago.   If you're feeling adventurous and are located in the vicinity of downtown Gary, you can walk to the South Shore Line station located at 100 W 4th Ave. From there, take the train to Millennium Station in Chicago.
