You can take the Gary Public Transportation bus to the South Shore Line train station. From there, board a train heading towards Chicago. Once you arrive at the Millennium Station in downtown Chicago, exit the station and walk to the nearest bus stop (on Michigan Ave). Take the #66 Chicago Avenue bus heading west until you reach State Street. From there, walk north on State Street for about 5 minutes until you reach Holy Name Cathedral at 735 N State St.

Make your way to the South Shore Line station in Gary, located at 100 W 4th Ave. Once there, purchase a ticket heading to Chicago. Board the train and enjoy the ride until you reach Millennium Station in downtown Chicago. After exiting the train, walk east towards State Street, then head north on State Street for about 10 minutes. Holy Name Cathedral will be on your right at 735 N State St.
