Public Transit (Bus)
To reach Lincoln Park Zoo from the center of Gary, Indiana, start by walking to the nearest bus stop for the Gary Public Transit. Take the bus to the South Shore Line station. From there, board a South Shore Line train heading towards Chicago. Once you arrive at the Millennium Station in Chicago, exit the train and head towards the 'State & Lake' exit. From Millennium Station, walk to the nearby State Street and catch the #151 bus towards 'Sheridan'. Stay on the bus for about 30 minutes until you reach 'Clark & Armitage'. From there, it's a short walk to the Lincoln Park Zoo, which is located at 2001 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60614.
Walking
If you're in the vicinity of downtown Gary, you can take a scenic walk to the bus terminal to catch a bus to Chicago. Head towards Broadway St and walk north until you reach 5th Ave. Turn left on 5th Ave and continue until you reach the Gary Public Transit bus terminal. Once there, follow the public transit guidance above to reach Lincoln Park Zoo.
