Public Transit
From the Gary Public Transportation Corporation (GPTC) bus terminal, take the Route 5 bus heading towards the South Shore Line. Ride for about 30 minutes until you reach the South Shore Line Station. Once you arrive at the station, transfer to the South Shore Line train heading towards Chicago. Stay on the train for approximately 45 minutes until you reach the Millennium Station in Chicago. After disembarking, walk east on East Randolph Street for about 5 minutes, then turn left onto North Michigan Avenue. Continue walking north for about 10 minutes, then turn right onto East Huron Street. St. James Cathedral will be on your left at 65 E Huron St.

If you are near the Gary City Hall, exit the building and head east on 5th Avenue. Continue straight for about 15 minutes until you reach East 5th Avenue and Broadway. Turn left on Broadway and walk for about 10 minutes until you reach the Gary South Shore Line station. From there, take the South Shore Line train towards Chicago as described above.
