Getting There

• Public Transit

  If you're in Gary, Indiana, start by heading to the nearest bus stop and take the Gary Public Transit Corporation (GPTC) bus to the South Shore Line station. From there, catch the South Shore Line train towards Chicago Millennium Station. After approximately 1 hour, disembark at Millennium Station. Once you arrive, exit the station and walk east on East Randolph Street for about 0.5 miles until you reach North Michigan Avenue. Turn left and continue walking north for about 0.2 miles. Then, turn right onto East Grand Avenue, and you'll find the Tall Ship Windy at 600 E Grand Ave.

• Walking

  If you're already in downtown Gary, head northeast on Broadway Street towards 5th Avenue. Continue straight for about 0.6 miles until you reach the Gary Public Library. From there, take a right onto 6th Avenue and walk for about 0.3 miles until you reach the South Shore Line station. Board the train to Chicago Millennium Station. After about 1 hour, exit the train and walk east on East Randolph Street for about 0.5 miles, then head north on North Michigan Avenue for 0.2 miles. Finally, turn right onto East Grand Avenue, and the Tall Ship Windy will be on your left at 600 E Grand Ave.

  For a more direct route from Gary, you can use a taxi or rideshare service like Uber or Lyft. Simply provide the driver with the address: 600 E Grand Ave, Chicago, IL 60611. The trip will take approximately 1 hour, depending on traffic conditions. This option will drop you off directly at the Tall Ship Windy.
