From downtown Gary, walk to the nearest bus stop on Broadway Avenue. Take the Gary Public Transit bus number 10 towards Chicago. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the South Shore Line station in Gary. Once at the South Shore Line station, board the train heading to Millennium Station in Chicago. After about 50 minutes, you will arrive at Millennium Station. From there, exit the station and walk two blocks north to reach the Merchandise Mart at 222 W Merchandise Mart Plaza.

If you are near the Gary Metro Station, you can catch the South Shore Line train directly to Chicago. Board the train heading towards Millennium Station. The trip will take approximately 50 minutes.
