Getting There

  • Public Transit

    If you're starting from Downtown Lafayette, walk to the nearest bus stop on Jefferson Street. Take the Lafayette Transit System's Route 5 (North) towards the Lafayette Airport. Stay on the bus for about 25 minutes, and get off at the Fisher Road stop. From there, it's a short 5-minute walk to Vermilionville Historic Village. Head southeast on Fisher Road, and you will find the entrance to Vermilionville on your left.

    If you prefer to bike, start from the corner of Main Street and Jefferson Street in Downtown Lafayette. Head south on Main Street until you reach the intersection with South University Avenue. Turn left onto South University Avenue and continue for about 1.5 miles. Then, turn right onto Fisher Road. Continue for about half a mile and you will see Vermilionville Historic Village on your right. There are bike racks available for parking.

    If you're nearby, you can walk to Vermilionville from the Lafayette Public Library. Head southeast on East Main Street for about 0.5 miles. Turn left onto South University Avenue and continue for another 0.3 miles. Then, turn right onto Fisher Road. Walk for about 0.4 miles, and you will see Vermilionville Historic Village on your left. The total walking distance is approximately 1.2 miles.
