Getting There

Public Bus

From downtown Gary, you can take the Gary Public Transit Corporation bus number 1 towards the Gary Metro Center. Get off at 5th Avenue and Broadway. From there, transfer to the bus number 16 that heads towards Chicago. Stay on the bus for about 30 minutes until you reach the stop at Fullerton Beach. The beach will be a short walk from the bus stop.
Walking

If you're staying in the downtown area of Gary, you can walk to the Gary Metro Center, which is about 1.5 miles south of Fullerton Beach. Head south on Broadway Street, then turn left onto 5th Avenue. From the Metro Center, follow the previous directions to take the bus number 16 toward Chicago.
Bicycle Rental

You can rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Gary. Once you have your bike, head east on 5th Avenue towards Broadway. Continue on Broadway heading south until you reach the intersection with 90/94. Follow the bike lane signs toward Chicago and stay on the path until you reach Fullerton Beach.
