A brilliant, off-the-beaten-track experience

I had an absolute blast! Clear meeting instructions and a friendly, attentive guide. I loved combining cycling, nature and an insight into rural Balinese life, including fascinating conversations about local traditions and ceremonies. The highlight was watching a local farmer climb an incredibly tall coconut palm to collect sap for arak production. Visiting the traditional distillery was fascinating, (although I'd exercise discretion when sampling unregulated alcohol.) I'm an experienced cyclist and felt comfortable sharing the rural quality roads with scooters and cars. We completed the cycling in around 90 minutes, but it could be challenging if you're less fit. The 2 pm heat was intense, so there was no need to hurry! Gembleng Waterfall was wonderfully refreshing, although expect to share it with the Instagram crowd. There's also a café and toilet at the top. If you enjoy authentic experiences rather than polished tourist attractions, I'd highly recommend this tour. A perfect adventure for me!

Amazing and Real Tour of Sidemen

This was one of the absolute highlights of my trip to Bali. Darma was an exceptional guide—friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about sharing his home, culture, and the Sidemen region. His family were also incredibly warm and welcoming, making the entire experience feel personal and authentic rather than just another tour. The rice fields were absolutely breathtaking. One of my favorite moments was walking through the terraces with not another tourist in sight. Having the entire landscape to myself made the experience incredibly peaceful and gave me the chance to truly appreciate the beauty of rural Bali. I also really enjoyed visiting the local sari weaving workshop. It was fascinating to see the craftsmanship and learn about the traditional weaving process. I couldn’t resist bringing home a beautiful scarves and a woven wall hanging as reminders of the experience. Another unforgettable stop was Gembleng Waterfall. The waterfall itself was stunning, and the views from the top were simply spectacular. It’s definitely a place worth visiting and one of the most beautiful viewpoints I saw during my time in Bali. If you’re looking for an authentic experience away from the crowds, this tour is perfect. Darma and his family made me feel like a welcomed guest, not just a customer. I left with wonderful memories, a deeper appreciation for Balinese culture, and a few beautiful handcrafted souvenirs. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Bali!

Local knowledge is always key

We had a tour of the east of Bali booked. Our driver Yudi explained the long drive and queues at the gates of heaven and gave us the option of still going or choosing some alternative venues. We chose the alternative options and I am so glad we did. Nudist knowledge of where to go to took us to a traditional village, a bamboo forest, and the largest temple in Bali amongst other stops. It was a great day out that we thoroughly enjoyed.
