Getting There

    From Borobudur, head east on Jl. Borobudur towards Jl. Raya Borobudur. Continue straight for about 3 km until you reach the intersection. Turn left onto Jl. Magelang - Yogyakarta (Jl. Raya Magelang) and continue for approximately 21 km. Then, take the exit towards Jl. Selo - Boyolali. Follow this road for about 15 km, and you will reach the entrance to Mount Merapi located at Dusun 2, Suroteleng, Selo, Boyolali Regency, Central Java. Parking may incur a fee of around IDR 5,000.

    Start at the Borobudur Bus Station. Take a bus to Magelang, which costs approximately IDR 20,000. From Magelang, transfer to a bus heading to Boyolali. Once in Boyolali, you may need to hire a local taxi or motorcycle taxi (ojek) to reach Mount Merapi, which can cost around IDR 50,000 to IDR 100,000 depending on negotiation.
