Getting There

Car

If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Waingapu, the capital city of East Sumba. Head east on Jl. Raya Waingapu until you reach the T-junction at the end of the road. Turn right onto Jl. Raya Kambaniru and continue for approximately 20 kilometers. When you reach the small village of Kanatang, look for signs for Air Terjun Tanggedu. The waterfall is located about 10 kilometers from Kanatang along a gravel road. Be cautious as the road may be bumpy. There is no entrance fee to visit the waterfall, but be prepared for some parking fees if you park near local vendors.
Public Transportation

For those using public transportation, you can take a local bus from Waingapu to Kanatang. Buses depart from the main bus terminal in Waingapu and the journey takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive in Kanatang, you can hire a local motorbike taxi (ojek) to take you to Air Terjun Tanggedu. The ride will cost around 30,000 IDR. Make sure to confirm the fare before starting your journey. After reaching the waterfall area, it is a short hike to the waterfall itself, which is well-marked.
Walking/Hiking

If you prefer to hike, you can start your hike from the nearest village to the waterfall, which is Ndapayami. The hike is around 4 kilometers from Ndapayami and takes approximately 1.5 hours. The trail is well-trodden but can be steep in certain areas, so wear comfortable shoes and carry enough water. At the base of the waterfall, you can enjoy the stunning views and take a refreshing swim in the natural pool.
