If you are traveling by car, start from any of the Gili Islands and take a boat back to the mainland, usually to Bangsal Harbor. The boat ride typically costs around IDR 15,000 to IDR 30,000 depending on the island you are departing from. Once you arrive at Bangsal, you can rent a car or take a taxi. The drive to Kota Tua Ampenan takes approximately 30 minutes. Follow the signs towards Mataram and then to Ampenan, and look for Jl. Pabean where Kota Tua Ampenan is located.

Public Transportation
To use public transportation, take a boat from your Gili Island to Bangsal Harbor. Upon arriving at Bangsal, look for the local bemo (shared minivan) that heads to Mataram. The fare for the bemo is around IDR 10,000 to IDR 20,000. Once you get to Mataram, you will need to transfer to a local bemo or taxi to reach Kota Tua Ampenan. The journey may take around 1 to 1.5 hours in total, depending on waiting times and traffic.
