Getting There

• TransJakarta Bus

  If you're starting from the Central Jakarta area, locate the nearest TransJakarta bus stop. Board the bus heading towards the 'Kota' route. You will need to transfer buses at the 'Harmoni' interchange. From Harmoni, switch to the route heading towards 'Bundaran HI' and alight at the 'Gambir' stop. From the Gambir stop, it's about a 10-minute walk to the National Gallery of Indonesia. Walk east on Jl. Medan Merdeka Timur, and you will see the National Gallery on your left at Jl. Medan Merdeka Tim. No.14.

• Commuter Line Train

  If you're near a commuter line station, take the train to 'Gambir' station, which is the closest to the National Gallery. Once you arrive at Gambir station, exit the station and head east on Jl. Medan Merdeka Timur. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the National Gallery, located at Jl. Medan Merdeka Tim. No.14. Just follow the road signs towards the National Gallery.

• Ride-Hailing Service (e.g., Gojek or Grab)

  For a more comfortable and direct option, you can use a ride-hailing service like Gojek or Grab. Open the app, set your pickup location, and enter 'National Gallery of Indonesia' or the address 'Jl. Medan Merdeka Tim. No.14' as your destination. This option is particularly useful if you are carrying luggage or prefer not to walk much. The driver will take you right to the entrance of the gallery.

• Walking

  If you are already in the Gambir area, you can walk to the National Gallery of Indonesia. From Gambir train station, exit onto Jl. Medan Merdeka Timur and walk east. Continue walking straight for about 1 km, and you will find the National Gallery on your left at Jl. Medan Merdeka Tim. No.14. This walk is pleasant and gives you a chance to see some local architecture along the way.
