Car
To reach Merapi Park in Yogyakarta by car, start from Yogyakarta city center. Head north on Jl. Malioboro towards Jl. Jend. Sudirman. Continue straight onto Jl. Kaliurang and follow it for approximately 22 kilometers. You will pass by several landmarks, including the University of Gadjah Mada. Look for the signs directing you to Merapi Park, which will be on your left at Jl. Kaliurang No.KM. 22.5, Banteng, Hargobinangun, Pakem. There is parking available on site.
Public Transportation
To get to Merapi Park using public transportation, take a Trans Jogja bus from Yogyakarta city center towards the northern route (e.g., to Kaliurang). Get off at the nearest stop to Jl. Kaliurang, then you can either walk approximately 3 km to the park or take a local taxi or ojek (motorcycle taxi) for a quicker ride. Make sure to ask the driver to take you to Jl. Kaliurang No.KM. 22.5, Banteng, Hargobinangun, Pakem, as it can be a bit tricky to find.
