Car
If you're driving from Yogyakarta, take Jl. Raya Yogyakarta-Panggang (Route 3) heading southeast. Continue for about 50 km until you reach the junction at Tepus. Turn left onto Jl. Pantai Sel. Jawa and follow the signs to Timang Beach. The drive will take approximately 1.5 hours, depending on traffic. Make sure to have cash ready for parking fees, which are generally around IDR 10,000.
Public Transportation
From Yogyakarta, board a bus from Giwangan Bus Station to Wonosari. The fare is around IDR 30,000 and the journey takes about 1 hour. Once in Wonosari, take a local minibus (angkot) to Tepus, which costs about IDR 10,000 and takes 30 minutes. Finally, from Tepus, hire a motorcycle taxi (ojek) to Timang Beach for about IDR 20,000. Total travel time is approximately 2 hours.
Motorcycle Rental
For a more adventurous option, rent a motorcycle in Yogyakarta. Rental costs range from IDR 70,000 to IDR 100,000 per day. Follow the same driving directions as mentioned above. Ensure you have a valid motorcycle license and wear a helmet. Parking is available at Timang Beach for a small fee.
