If you are starting from Merdeka Walk, head east on Jalan Balai Kota towards Jalan Sisingamangaraja. Continue straight for about 500 meters until you reach the intersection with Jalan Diponegoro. Turn left on Jalan Diponegoro and after approximately 300 meters, you will see Lap. Merdeka on your right.

Public Transport (Becak)
From any location in Medan, you can take a becak (pedicab) to Lap. Merdeka. Make sure to tell the driver 'Lapangan Merdeka' or show them the address in Kesawan, Medan Barat. The drivers are usually familiar with the area. The fare should be negotiated before the ride, but expect to pay around 20,000 to 30,000 IDR depending on your starting point.

To get to Lap. Merdeka using an angkot (minibus), find an angkot that travels along the routes passing through Kesawan. A good option is to board an angkot heading towards the Medan City area. Inform the driver that you are going to Lap. Merdeka. The fare is typically around 5,000 IDR. Once you are dropped off, walk a short distance towards the square which should be visible.

You can also use a taxi, either traditional or via an app like Gojek or Grab. Simply input 'Lapangan Merdeka' as your destination. The taxi will take you directly to the square, and you can expect the fare to be around 30,000 to 50,000 IDR depending on your starting point.
