Car
If you're traveling by car, start from Medan, the capital of North Sumatra. Head south on the Jalan Lintas Sumatera road (Route 1) towards South Tapanuli. After approximately 3.5 hours of driving (around 150 km), you will reach the town of Sipirok. Continue your journey for about 10 km south on the same road until you reach the intersection at Maju Mambe. Turn left at the intersection and follow the signs towards Air Terjun Silima-lima. The waterfall is about 7 km from this turn-off. The road can be narrow and winding, so drive carefully. Once you arrive, you may need to park your vehicle and walk to the waterfall, which is a short trek from the parking area.

Public Transportation
To reach Air Terjun Silima-lima using public transportation, begin your journey from Medan Bus Station. Take a bus towards Sipirok, which operates several times a day and costs approximately IDR 50,000. The journey takes around 4-5 hours. Upon arriving at Sipirok, you can hire a local minivan (angkot) for around IDR 30,000 to take you to Maju Mambe. From Maju Mambe, you will need to arrange for a motorcycle taxi (ojek) to take you the final 7 km to Air Terjun Silima-lima, which should cost around IDR 50,000. Be prepared for a short trek to reach the waterfall from the drop-off point.
