Car
If you are driving from Medan, take the Jalan Tol Medan - Kualanamu - Tebing Tinggi route towards Tebing Tinggi. From there, continue on Jalan Raya Lintas Sumatera towards Pematang Siantar. After passing Pematang Siantar, follow signs for Lake Toba, heading towards Samosir Island. Upon reaching the town of Pangururan on Samosir Island, look for signs to Parbaba Dolok. The beach is located a short distance from the main road, and follow the local signs to Pasir Putih Parbaba, which is approximately 5 kilometers from the town center.
Public Transportation
To reach Pasir Putih Parbaba via public transport from Medan, take a bus from the Amplas bus terminal to Parapat, a town near Lake Toba. The bus fare typically ranges from IDR 70,000 to IDR 100,000. From Parapat, you will need to hire a local minibus or taxi to Pangururan, which costs around IDR 50,000 to IDR 70,000. Upon arriving in Pangururan, you can either walk or take a local transport service to reach Pasir Putih Parbaba, which is about 5 kilometers away. Ensure you negotiate the fare beforehand if you choose a taxi or minibus.
Motorcycle Rental
For those who prefer a more adventurous route, renting a motorcycle in Medan or Parapat is a great option. Rental prices generally range from IDR 75,000 to IDR 150,000 per day. After picking up your motorcycle, head towards Pangururan via the main road. As you approach Samosir Island, take a ferry from Parapat (ferry fare is about IDR 10,000 for a motorcycle). Once on the island, follow the local signage to Pasir Putih Parbaba, which is approximately a 15-minute ride from the ferry terminal.
