If you are in Bintan Island, you can rent a car from one of the local rental agencies. Drive towards Gunung Kijang by following the signs along Jalan Raya. The journey will take approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive in Gunung Kijang, look for signs leading to Teluk Bakau, where White Sands Island is located.

From Tanjung Pinang, take a public bus to Gunung Kijang. Buses are available from the main bus terminal and the fare is around IDR 30,000. The journey takes about 1.5 hours. Once you reach Gunung Kijang, you can take a taxi or motorbike taxi to Teluk Bakau, which is about 15 minutes away.

Boat Transfer
After reaching Teluk Bakau, you will need to take a boat transfer to White Sands Island. There are local boat services available that operate regularly. The cost for a round trip is approximately IDR 200,000 per person. Make sure to check the boat schedules in advance to plan your visit accordingly.

If you prefer more convenience, you can hire a taxi directly from Tanjung Pinang to take you to Teluk Bakau. The trip costs around IDR 400,000 and should take approximately 1 hour. From Teluk Bakau, you will still need to take a boat transfer to reach White Sands Island.
