Public Bus
From Semarang city center, head to the nearest bus station, such as Terminal Terboyo. Look for a bus heading to Banyumanik. Once on the bus, inform the driver or conductor that you want to get off at Jl. Perintis Kemerdekaan. After about 30 minutes, disembark at the designated stop. From there, walk approximately 10-15 minutes to reach Pagoda Avalokitesvara, following the main road.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Semarang. Start cycling towards Jl. Perintis Kemerdekaan. Follow the road signs leading to Banyumanik. The journey should take about 30-40 minutes. As you approach the Pagoda, you will see the distinct architecture from a distance. Park your bicycle at the nearby designated area.
Walking
If you are close to the city center, you can opt for a walking tour. Start from Simpang Lima and head southeast along Jl. Pandanaran. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Jl. Perintis Kemerdekaan. Turn right and walk straight for about 2 km. The Pagoda Avalokitesvara will be on your left. This walk will take approximately 40-50 minutes.
Ride-Hailing Services (e.g., Gojek, Grab)
Download a ride-hailing app and set your destination as Pagoda Avalokitesvara, Yayasan Buddhagaya, Jl. Perintis Kemerdekaan, Pudakpayung, Semarang. The driver will pick you up from your location and take you directly to the Pagoda. This option is convenient and will take about 20-30 minutes depending on traffic.
