Local know-how to help you travel smarter and make the most of every moment.
Public Bus
To reach Yayasan Buddhagaya from the Semarang city center, you can take a public bus from the main bus terminal. Head to the 'Terboyo' bus terminal and look for a bus heading towards Banyumanik. Once you're on the bus, inform the driver that you're going to Jl. Perintis Kemerdekaan. The ride should take approximately 30-40 minutes. Get off when you reach the intersection near Yayasan Buddhagaya. From there, walk a short distance along Jl. Perintis Kemerdekaan, and you will find the temple on your right.
Angkot (Minibus)
You can also use an 'angkot' (shared minibus) for a more local experience. From the city center, find an angkot route that goes to Banyumanik. Look for angkot labeled 'Banyumanik' or 'Pudakpayung'. The fare is quite affordable. Once you are in Banyumanik, ask the driver to drop you off at Jl. Perintis Kemerdekaan. After disembarking, walk along the road, and you will see Yayasan Buddhagaya in just a few minutes.
Walking
If you're already close to the Pudakpayung area, you can walk to Yayasan Buddhagaya. Start from the nearest landmark, such as the Banyumanik market. Head east on Jl. Perintis Kemerdekaan and continue walking for about 15-20 minutes. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to Yayasan Buddhagaya, which will be located on your left side as you approach. Make sure to enjoy the local sights along the way!
