Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Jayapura city. Head south on Jl. Raya Jayapura - Sentani for approximately 30 kilometers. Keep an eye out for the signs indicating Ebungfau. Once you reach Ebungfau, follow the signs to Atabar, which is where Danau Emfote is located. The lake is approximately 15 kilometers from Ebungfau. Ensure your vehicle has enough fuel, as gas stations can be sparse in rural areas.
Public Transportation
For those opting for public transportation, take a minibus from Jayapura to Sentani. The fare is around IDR 20,000. In Sentani, transfer to a minibus heading towards Ebungfau. The fare for this leg is about IDR 25,000. Once you reach Ebungfau, you can hire a local motorcycle taxi (ojek) to take you the remaining 15 kilometers to Danau Emfote. The cost for the motorcycle taxi will be approximately IDR 50,000.
Walking
If you find yourself nearby in Ebungfau, you can also walk to Danau Emfote. The walk will take around 3-4 hours, depending on your pace. Follow the road leading south from Ebungfau towards Atabar. Make sure to carry water and wear comfortable shoes, as the terrain may vary.
