To reach Monas by car, start your journey in South Papua and head towards the nearest major city, which is Jayapura. From Jayapura, drive to Sentani Airport. Take a flight to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta. Once you arrive in Jakarta, rent a car or use a ride-hailing service like Gojek or Grab. Set your GPS to Merdeka Square, Jakarta, Jalan Lapangan Monas, Gambir, Central Jakarta City, Jakarta 10110. The monument is well-signposted and parking is available nearby.
Public Transportation
If you're traveling by public transportation, start at Jayapura and take a bus to Sentani Airport. From Sentani, catch a flight to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta. Upon your arrival in Jakarta, take the Airport Rail Link to BNI City station. From there, you can either take a taxi or a bus to Monas. If you choose the bus, look for TransJakarta buses heading towards Gambir Station. Get off at the Gambir stop, and Monas is a short walk from there.
