Continue on this road for about 30 km until you reach the town of Matur. Once in Matur, follow the signs for 'Puncak Lawang' and take the Jl. Panorama Puncak road. The journey from Bukittinggi to Puncak Lawang will take approximately 1 hour, depending on traffic. Make sure to have a GPS or a reliable map application, as some road signs may not be in English.

To reach Puncak Lawang by public transportation, take a bus from Padang to Bukittinggi. The buses leave frequently from the terminal and the journey takes about 2-3 hours. Once in Bukittinggi, you can find a local minibus (angkot) or a shared taxi heading to Matur. Inform the driver you are going to Puncak Lawang. The minibus will drop you at the entrance of the road leading to Puncak Lawang. Expect to pay around IDR 50,000 for the bus from Padang to Bukittinggi and IDR 20,000 for the local transport to Matur.
