If you're driving, start from the center of Ubud. Head south on Jl. Raya Ubud, and continue straight for about 1 km. Turn right onto Jl. Monkey Forest. Continue for about 500 meters until you reach the entrance of the Monkey Forest, which will be on your left. There is parking available near the entrance, but it may incur a small fee (around IDR 5,000).
Public Transportation (Bemo)
To access Monkey Forest via public transport, look for a bemo (shared minivan) heading towards Ubud. Get off at the Ubud Market stop. From there, it's a short 10-15 minute walk. Head south on Jl. Raya Ubud, then turn right onto Jl. Monkey Forest. Continue straight until you reach the entrance of the Monkey Forest, which will be on your left.
Walking
If you are already in central Ubud, walking to Monkey Forest is an enjoyable option. Start from Ubud Palace and head south on Jl. Raya Ubud for about 800 meters. Turn right onto Jl. Monkey Forest and walk down the street for approximately 500 meters. You will see the entrance to Monkey Forest on your left. The walk takes around 20 minutes and provides a great opportunity to explore local shops and cafes along the way.
Taxi or Ride-hailing Service
For a more convenient option, consider using a taxi or a ride-hailing app like Grab or Gojek. Simply input 'Monkey Forest' as your destination. The fare from central Ubud to Monkey Forest typically ranges from IDR 20,000 to IDR 30,000 depending on traffic. The drop-off point will be right outside the entrance to Monkey Forest.
