Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start your journey from Padang, the capital of West Sumatra. Take the Jalan Raya Padang - Bukittinggi road (also known as Jalan Lintas Sumatera), which is well-signposted. The drive to Bukittinggi takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, covering about 90 kilometers. Upon reaching Bukittinggi, follow the signs to the city center. Jam Gadang is located at M9V9+WQH, Jl. Raya Bukittinggi - Payakumbuh, easily accessible with ample parking nearby.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  For public transportation, you can catch a bus from the Padang bus terminal (Terminal Bus Aau). Look for buses heading to Bukittinggi. The bus journey typically takes around 2 to 2.5 hours and costs approximately IDR 40,000 to IDR 70,000 (around $3 to $5). Once you arrive at the Bukittinggi bus terminal, you can take a local angkot (minibus) or a taxi to Jam Gadang, which is only about 10 minutes away.
