From Malioboro Street, head to the nearest bus stop. Take the Trans Jogja bus number 1A or 1B towards the Kotagede terminal. The journey will take about 30-40 minutes. Get off at the Kotagede stop. From there, continue walking east on Jalan Kemasan until you reach the intersection with Jalan Alun-Alun Utara. Turn left onto Jalan Alun-Alun Utara and walk for about 10 minutes until you reach Lawang Pethuk, which will be on your left.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from a rental shop in Malioboro. Start by heading south to Jalan Pangeran Diponegoro, then turn left onto Jalan Jenderal Sudirman. Continue straight until you reach Jalan Kotagede. Follow the road signs towards Kotagede. Once in Kotagede, ask locals for directions to Jalan Alun-Alun Utara, which is a straight path. Lawang Pethuk will be on your left after you turn onto this street.

If you are close to Kotagede, you can walk to Lawang Pethuk. Start at the Kotagede Market, located in the center of Kotagede. From the market, head east on Jalan Magangan until you reach the intersection with Jalan Alun-Alun Utara. Turn right onto Jalan Alun-Alun Utara and walk for about 5 minutes. Lawang Pethuk will be on your left side, identifiable by its unique architecture.
