Adventurous Rafting on the Elo and Progo Rivers

Getting There

• Public Bus

  Begin your journey at the Yogyakarta Tugu Station. From there, locate the nearby bus stop and catch a bus heading towards Magelang. Be sure to check with the bus driver to confirm that the bus stops at Mungkid. The journey will take approximately 1.5 hours. Once you arrive at Mungkid, ask locals for directions to Dusun Nariban, Progowati. It is about a 5-10 minute walk from the bus stop.

• Train

  Head to Yogyakarta's Tugu Train Station and board a train heading towards Magelang. After approximately 1 hour, you'll arrive at the Magelang Station. From there, take a local angkot (minibus) or motorcycle taxi (ojek) to Mungkid. Specify that you want to go to Dusun Nariban, Progowati. The angkot ride will take around 20 minutes.

• Motorcycle Taxi (Ojek)

  If you are located in the city center, you can use a mobile app like Gojek or Grab to request a motorcycle taxi directly to Rafting Sungai Elo dan Progo. Enter the destination as Dusun Nariban, Progowati, Magelang. The ride will take approximately 1-1.5 hours depending on traffic conditions.

• Bicycle

  For the adventurous traveler, rent a bicycle in Yogyakarta and start your journey towards Magelang. Follow the main road north from Yogyakarta, which will take you through scenic areas. The distance to Mungkid is about 40 kilometers (24.8 miles) and will take approximately 3-4 hours by bicycle. Once in Mungkid, ask locals for directions to Dusun Nariban.
