Car
If you are driving from Cedar Valley, head northeast on US-30 E. After approximately 24 miles, take the exit toward Mount Vernon. Continue on Mount Vernon Road until you reach Kepler Drive. Turn left onto Kepler Drive, and the entrance to Palisades-Kepler State Park will be on your right at 700 Kepler Dr, Mt Vernon, IA 52314. There is no entrance fee for the park, but be sure to check for any parking fees if you're using certain facilities.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you will first need to take a bus from Cedar Rapids to Mount Vernon. Use the Cedar Rapids Transit system to find the appropriate route. Once you arrive in Mount Vernon, you can either walk to the park, which is about 1.5 miles away, or use a local taxi service. Walking directions from the bus stop: Head south on 1st St SW, then turn left onto 8th Ave SW, which will lead you to Kepler Dr. Follow Kepler Dr until you reach the park entrance at 700 Kepler Dr, Mt Vernon, IA 52314. Be prepared to pay for the bus fare, which may vary depending on the route.
