Getting There

  • Walking

    From downtown Iowa City, start at the Pedestrian Mall (located at the intersection of Washington St and Dubuque St). Head north on Dubuque St until you reach the intersection with Iowa Ave. Turn right onto Iowa Ave and continue walking for about 0.5 miles. You will pass by several shops and eateries. When you reach the intersection with Clinton St, continue straight as Iowa Ave becomes Carroll St. After another 0.2 miles, you will see the Plum Grove Historical Site at 1030 Carroll St on your right.

    If you have access to a bike, start at the Iowa City Public Library (123 South Linn St). Head north on Linn St, which will turn into Gilbert St. Continue on Gilbert St until you reach the intersection with Iowa Ave. Turn left onto Iowa Ave and bike for about 0.5 miles. When you reach Clinton St, continue straight as Iowa Ave becomes Carroll St. The Plum Grove Historical Site will be on your right after about 0.2 miles from this intersection.
