If you are starting from downtown Iowa City, head north on S Dubuque St toward E Washington St. Continue straight onto North Dubuque Street, and then take a left onto E College St. Walk until you reach the intersection with N Linn St, then turn right. Follow N Linn St until it turns into North 1st Ave. Continue on North 1st Ave until you reach the Coralville Reservoir area. The Woodpecker Trail entrance is located near the reservoir, marked with signs.

From downtown Iowa City, locate the Cambus bus stop. Take the #6 bus towards the Coralville Transit Center. Disembark at the 'Coralville Reservoir' stop. Once you get off the bus, head northwest towards the reservoir, and you will see the trail entrance for Woodpecker Trail a short walk away.
