From the center of Newton, head east on E 2nd St toward S 2nd Ave. Continue straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with E 3rd St. Turn left onto E 3rd St and walk for about 0.2 miles. You will then turn right onto N 4th Ave E and continue on this road for about 0.3 miles. Next, turn left onto E 12th St and follow it until you reach the intersection with S 1st Ave E. Turn right, and continue straight for about 0.4 miles. Finally, turn left onto Derby St, and the Custom House will be on your left at 176 Derby St.
Bicycle
If you're using a bicycle, start from the Newton Public Library located at 100 N 3rd Ave E. Head east on E 2nd St and take a left at S 2nd Ave. Continue riding for about 0.5 miles, then turn left onto E 3rd St. Ride for another 0.2 miles before turning right onto N 4th Ave E. After about 0.3 miles, make a left onto E 12th St. Continue straight and take a right onto S 1st Ave E. After approximately 0.4 miles, turn left onto Derby St, and the Custom House will be located at 176 Derby St on your left.
Public Transit
To reach the Custom House using public transport, take the local bus service from the Newton Transit Center. Board the bus heading towards Salem and get off at the stop at E 12th St & S 1st Ave E. From there, walk north on S 1st Ave E for about 0.4 miles. Turn left onto Derby St, and you will find the Custom House at 176 Derby St on your left side.
