From Interstate 29, take exit 151 for Iowa Highway 12 North. Follow Highway 12 North for approximately 4 miles. Turn left onto Stone State Park Drive and follow the signs for Elk Point Overlook. The overlook is about 2.5 miles from the park entrance. Parking is available at the overlook. There are no tolls or mandatory access fees.

From the Sioux City Transit Center at 4th and Nebraska Streets, take Bus Route 5 (Stone State Park). The bus will take you directly to the entrance of Stone State Park. From the park entrance, follow the signs towards Elk Point Overlook. The hike is approximately 1 mile from the visitor center. A single fare for public transport is $1.75.
